2008.8.8 @ 13:44 Pours a very dark brown, black from a distance and is completely opaque. A half inch tan creamy head sits on top and lingers with excellent retention and falls leaving some fine lacing behind. Aroma is quite pleasing. A gentle floral note up front, with darker malt tones behind it. Dark fruits, sugar, spice, and mollases. Taste is not quite as good as the aroma lead me to believe. Slightly floral still, but with those bigger malt tones brings up the rear. A bit of chocolate, slightly bitter, with some dark fruit. Rather boozy actually. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with fine and gentle carbonation. Drinkability is moderate. Decent flavor and moderate alcohol make this brew fairly easy to consume, but slightly limit it as well. |
