Pours a very dark brown and is opaque. Three fingers of tan head sit on top of this beer receeding slowly leaving no lace on the glass. There is however good retention.

Aroma is enticing. Sweet caramel, ripe fruit, a little spice, and a slight hint of alcohol.

Taste is nice. Ripe fruit, raisins and plums, molasses, sweet caramel, some spice, yeast and a robust malty bitter chocolate flavor. A slight hint of alcohol is also present. Pretty impressive how a brew at 10.5% hides the alcohol this well.

Mouthfeel is medium to full bodied and lightly carbonated.

Drinkability is moderate. Good flavors make it easy to drink, but at 10.5% ABV consumption should be on the slow side.
