2008.7.20 @ 08:59 Pours a dark black with nearly an inch of chocolate-brown head. The body is thick - probably the thickest stout I've ever had - and sticky - it leaves a maddening layer of beer stuck to the inside of the glass, that you know you'll never get to drink. Smell and taste suggest chocolate, without overwhelming. There's also a hint of roast and a touch of alcoholic sting. Moderate drinkability here. Flavor is good, but the tickness gets tiring after the 12-ish oz. mark. I recommend splitting the 1pt., 6oz. bottle with someone. I've also been told that it's a special treat to add a bit of New Glarus' Raspberry Tart to your glass of BCOS. |
