The first to comment on a classic? Really? Well, here goes...

The first time I tried SA Boston Lager it was as an ignorant youth, straight from the bottle, and I didn't like it very much at all. The second time was on tap and, while I enjoyed it more, it didn't impress me much. Two weeks later, however, I tried two bottles from pilsener glasses and liked them both, more so each time. I know my taste buds have matured a lot since my first bottle of Boston Lager, but the fact that as more and more time went on I enjoyed this beer more and more was largely due to appropriate glassware. I can't wait to get my hands on their special Boston Lager glass and see if it truly does enhance the experience.

As for the brew itself, it is very well crafted and well balanced with a perfect amount of hops, a toasted feel, and a delicate sweetness from caramel malt. It's an ideal session beer. Spicy floral hops provide citrus and pine notes, with the right amount of bitterness, as well as some sweetness. Toasted malt and a slight caramel flavor are balanced with a a spicy floral hop bite and a nice hoppy finish. It's nice to at least be able to find beer this good amongst the less than mediocre offerings of mass-produced lager brewers.
