2008.2.2 @ 21:25 Wow - that's a serious amount of hops! Taking a whiff over the glass feels like smelling a bouquet of freshly-cut flowers. Surprisingly, the body of the beer wasn't really harsh, though. In fact, it felt quite smooth, almost creamy. |

2008.2.12 @ 23:23 Pours a gorgeous golden/amber color and is remarkably clear. A big white head sits on top. Aroma is subtle. Mild sweetness as well as a citrusy hop. Taste is pretty good. Hops hold milder flavors than other beers of this type. However, there is a huge bitterness to this beer which is very nice. Mouthfeel is thick with a good amount of carbonation. Drinkability is ok, but more than one is probably pushing it. |

2008.2.29 @ 21:18 Hops rule the day with this beer just as the name implies. I believe the wallop portion comes from the feeling you get if you have one too many (8.5% ABV). Very floral and almost fruity. If you have to opportunity to taste it cask-conditioned, do not hesitate to try it. I've had it bottled and from the tap and both are great. But from the cask is the way to go if you have the option. I swear looking at it in the light reveals a slightly green tinge, but maybe it's just the hops talking... |
