2008.2.12 @ 15:36 Well balanced with enough hops to keep any hop head content as well as plenty of caramel and toasted malts. Grapefruit with a touch of fresh tobacco and some sweetness in the back. Big and bold, but never overpowering bitterness and almost non-existent carbonation. Smooth, oily, semi-dry finish with unmistakable ale fruitiness and a hoppy aftertaste that never leaves the palate. This is a delicious, highly drinkable and well balanced beer that is a great candidate for sessioning. |

2008.3.24 @ 23:19 Pours a very clear amber color with a large inch and a half pure white head. There is good retention and nice lacing around the glass. Aroma is notably hoppy, with a huge grassy note along with some nice pine. Taste is nice. Similar to smell, the taste is hoppy with grassy and piney notes, however the taste is less abrassive than the smell would indicate. That's kind of a let down. There is also a slight bitterness, but not too much. Mouthfeel is thin to medium bodied with great carbonation. Drinkability is fairly high. Flavors are fine, alcohol is low, and the beer drinks smooth. Could have a few, but wouldn't be my IPA of choice. |
