2008.3.22 @ 12:46 Pours a dark brown with a large off-white head. Aroma has a nice fruitiness, apples and plums. A slight alcohol tinge. Taste is wonderful. Fruity notes of apples and plums, sweet maltiness, and some tangy spice with only a slight hint of alcohol. Mouthfeel is medium bodied and appropriately carbonated. Drinkability is moderately high. |

2008.7.13 @ 21:53 Drank a bunch of this at a Belgian dubbel tasting. For all the hype given to Chimay, it was actually one of my least favorites of the night (I liked them all, but this one just wasn't special). It was weak in flavor and thinner in body. |

2008.9.12 @ 15:38 This malty Trapist Ale 7% abv. has a copper hazy color and an off-white abundant tight head. Carbonation is similar to a champagne fizz. The aroma is a sweet caramel sugar scented and spicy, sort of black currants and risings profile. It is brewed with malted barley, wheat and candy sugar. A top fermenting yeast is used which delivers many of the fruity aroma and flavors. Long lasting good food. Liquid bread, liquid enjoyment! last edited on 2008.9.12 @ 15:39 |
