BeerRiot's Facebook app is a way to share BeerRiot's recommendations for you with your friends. Once you add the app, BeerRiot will display a box on your Facebook profile that shows your favorite beer and your top three BeerRiot recommendations to anyone who can see your profile. It's a great way to show off your adventurous beer tastes, and lure your friends into the system. BeerRiot only gets more accurate the more people vote!

To add the app, go to the BeerRiot Facebook app's about page, and click "Add this app" in the upper right.

Alternatively, click the Facebook login button on the left side of this page (assuming you're not logged in). This will create a new login for you, and you will be able to vote, comment, add beers, etc. without adding a box to your profile. At any time, you can add the profile box by following the directions above, or clicking "Add this app" on BeerRiot's Facebook "canvas" page.

I have a BeerRiot login already, how do I transfer the votes?

Simple, just follow the appropriate steps:

If you are currently logged into BeerRiot through Facebook:

1. Click Settings in the upper right.
2. Enter the username and password for your other BeerRiot login on the page that comes up.
3. After submitting the form, you should be greeted with a message saying you've tied your accounts.

If you are currently logged into your "native" BeerRiot account:

1. Click Settings in the upper right, then click Facebook just above the email entry box.
2. Now click on the Facebook link in the paragraph on that page.
3. Once you have completed the Facebook login, you'll be redirected back to the same Settings page, which should now tell you that your BeerRiot account and your Facebook profile are linked.

Note 1: You have only tied the accounts at this point. To get the BeerRiot box in your Facebook profile, follow the instructions in the question above.

Note 2: Don't worry if you had already created a new BeerRiot account through Facebook before finding these instructions. We'll move all the votes, comments, etc. from that account to your other one.

Note 3: You can unlink your Facebook profile at any time by clicking "Forget..." on the Settings page.

No problem. Just follow these steps:

1. Login to BeerRiot through Facebook.
2. From any BeerRiot page, click on Settings in the upper right.
3. Choose a username and password you like, and enter them in the form that you see on that page.
4. If no one has taken the name you want, you will be greeted with a message saying you've tied your accounts. Your new username will be shown in the upper right, and BeerRiot will use this name to refer to you everywhere, instead of your Facebook name.

Don't worry, you won't lose any of your votes, comments, etc.

Yes, there are advantages to having a "native" BeerRiot login, as opposed to just logging in through Facebook. Some of them are:

• You can send beer lists to your friends via email!
• You can login to BeerRiot without logging into Facebook. Very handy when Facebook is down, or you only have limited net access.
• Your Facebook name will not be shown on BeerRiot. You can pick something you'd like more to associate with your beer preferences.
