What are Places?
Places is where you'll find out where you can taste your latest recommendation. You should find everything from restaurants to retailers here, along with selections that other BeerRiot memebers have found available at each spot.
How do I tell BeerRiot that I had a beer somewhere?
Easy! First check the Place's page on BeerRiot. If the beer is listed in the Place's menu, just click the
button next to it. BeerRiot will update the availability to let people know they're very likely to find it there.
If the beer isn't already on the Place's menu, scroll to the box at the bottom of the menu and enter the name of the beer (or its BeerRiot id, if you know it), then click add. You could also go to the beer's page, and type the Place's name in the box at the right.
If your favorite Place isn't even listed on BeerRiot yet, please add it!
So what's with the barrels?
The barrels (
) are a rough indicator for how likely you are to find a particular beer at a particular place. The barrels disappear as days go by, or as other BeerRiot members find an establishment out of stock and click the
button.
Beers that I added to a place a month ago have vanished from that place - why?
In an effort to keep selections as up to date as possible, BeerRiot removes a beer from a Place's menu after thirty days. BeerRiot memebers can prevent this from happening by clicking the
button on the Place's list for any beer they found in stock last time they visited.
A place I went to didn't have the beer BeerRiot said it did - what should I do?
Click the
button next to that beer on the Place's menu! BeerRiot relies on its members to keep these menus up to date. Thanks for helping out!
