I know there are many of you that have been looking for somewhere to discuss things other than specific beers. From proper glassware to upcoming beer-related events, there are things you all want to know and share. Well, the solution is here: BeerRiot's Forums.
For now, there are three categories:
- Beer Events is the place to announce upcoming opportunities to sample new beers, learn about beer, etc.
- Beer Talk is where you'll want to ask which beer goes best with chili, discuss the retailers with the largest selections, gather support for beer-related legislation, etc.
- BeerRiot Meta is the place to tell me what changes you'd like to see made to the site, or ask for help using the site from your fellow rioters.
You'll also find that it's possible to associate beer tags with a discussion when you create the topic. I hope this makes it easier to demonstrate exactly which beers you're trying to talk about. I think it's especially useful for beer events, where the list is known (for example, last Summer's American Beer Fest).
But wait - there's more! Brewery entries have become more than just gatherings of beers. You can now browse them by clicking the Breweries link at the top of the page, and comment on them. Just click "Comments" on the brewery's page.
No wait - still more! Comments are no longer final. If you realize you made a terrible mistake days after posting, just log in and click the "Edit..." link on the post. You'll be whisked to a preview page with your comment's text ready for editing.* You may also find the "Reply..." link useful. ;)
Okay - that's finally it. Let the discussions begin!
