<item><title>WWW is Back</title>
<link>http://beerriot.com/news/view/20081201</link>
<description>&#60;p&#62;I learned earlier today that while beerriot.com has been up the whole time, www.beerriot.com has been redirecting to another site for a month.  Apologies to those who thought BeerRiot had gone away.  Welcome back.&#60;/p&#62;

&#60;p&#62;Slightly more info (and promise of an impending new release) is available on &#60;a href="http://blog.beerriot.com/2008/12/02/www-is-back/"&#62;the blog&#60;/a&#62;.&#60;/p&#62;

<item><title>T-shirts!</title>
<link>http://beerriot.com/news/view/20080426</link>
<description>&#60;p&#62;If you've met me in person, you've known that BeerRiot swag has existed since at least last summer, but hasn't been available, in general, until now.  Today, the &#60;a href="http://www.cafepress.com/beerriot/"&#62;BeerRiot Store&#60;/a&#62; opens on CafePress.&#60;/p&#62;

&#60;p&#62;If you're looking for a great way to spread the word about BeerRiot, consider buying yourself a t-shirt.  If you can never remember to go vote after you've tasted something new, buy a magnet and stick it on the fridge your beer is in.&#60;/p&#62;

&#60;p&#62;More fun swag coming soon!&#60;/p&#62;

<item><title>One Year!</title>
<link>http://beerriot.com/news/view/20080404</link>
<description>&#60;p&#62;It's hard to believe, but one year ago today, BeerRiot saw its &#60;a href="http://beerriot.com/news/view/20070404"&#62;public alpha launch&#60;/a&#62;.&#60;/p&#62;

&#60;p&#62;Since then, the site has evolved through &#60;a href="http://beerriot.com/news/view/20070429"&#62;style changes&#60;/a&#62;, &#60;a href="http://beerriot.com/news/view/20070520"&#62;tags&#60;/a&#62;, &#60;a href="http://beerriot.com/news/view/20070521"&#62;blogging&#60;/a&#62;, &#60;a href="http://beerriot.com/news/view/20070606"&#62;maps&#60;/a&#62;, &#60;a href="http://beerriot.com/news/view/20070723"&#62;Facebook&#60;/a&#62;, &#60;a href="http://beerriot.com/news/view/20071003"&#62;sharing&#60;/a&#62;, &#60;a href="http://beerriot.com/news/view/20071028"&#62;forums&#60;/a&#62;, &#60;a href="http://beerriot.com/news/view/20071103"&#62;rss&#60;/a&#62;, &#60;a href="http://beerriot.com/news/view/20071216"&#62;places&#60;/a&#62;, and more.  I currently see over 1000 users and nearly 2500 beers from almost 600 breweries.  Amazing!&#60;/p&#62;

&#60;p&#62;Thanks for all your support in year one.  I expect year two to be just as exciting as year one, so keep checking in and spreading the word.&#60;/p&#62;

<item><title>The good, the bad...</title>
<link>http://beerriot.com/news/view/20080327</link>
<description>&#60;p&#62;As &#60;a href="http://beerriot.com/forums/riot/12/comments/592"&#62;Goliath pointed out&#60;/a&#62;, a great way to improve BeerRiot's recommendations is to vote on more than just the beers it thinks you'll like.  In fact, if you're up for it, you may want to try those it thinks you &#60;em&#62;won't&#60;/em&#62; like, or even those it has no strong feelings about.&#60;/p&#62;

&#60;p&#62;To help facilitate this kind of voting, I've just made it easier to find what's at the bottom, and the middle of your recommendations list.  On the &#60;a href="/top"&#62;Recommended&#60;/a&#62; page, you'll still find your top recommendations, but you'll also see buttons for the &#60;a href="/middle"&#62;middle&#60;/a&#62; rank, and the &#60;a href="/bottom"&#62;lowest&#60;/a&#62; rank.&#60;/p&#62;

&#60;p&#62;If you really want to look even farther afield, check out the later pages of &#60;a href="http://beerriot.com/beers/all?sort=score&#38;page=last"&#62;the beers list, sorted by score&#60;/a&#62;, where you'll find things that BeerRiot can't even guess at for you.&#60;/p&#62;

<item><title>1000!</title>
<link>http://beerriot.com/news/view/20080313</link>
<description>&#60;p&#62;Woah!  A curious thing happened last night while I wasn't looking: BeerRiot broke the four-digit user mark!  Not even a year since the site went live, and we already have &#60;a href="/user/view/1000"&#62;user #1000&#60;/a&#62;.  I'm psyched.&#60;/p&#62;

&#60;p&#62;Congrats to Tim on snagging the first four-digit user id, and many thanks to all who have added beers, left comments, tagged, voted, spread the word to friends, and just made this site great in general.  Keep it up!&#60;/p&#62;
