Redbridge 2007.4.11 @ 20:40 Corey's right - it's one word...and now it's changed. :)
Maximus 2007.4.13 @ 19:10 Strong (8.5%) copper-colored ale. Labeled "Belgian Style", but apart from a somewhat thick, malty character, I wouldn't classify it as such. Very smooth, almost syrupy mouth-feel.
Flying Dog Tire Bite Golden 2007.4.13 @ 19:12 This is the best kölsch I've had in North America yet. Very much like the light-colored beers of Germany.
Trois Pistoles 2007.5.2 @ 20:43 Dark brown, with a dark taste, but instead of bitterness, there is a sourness reminiscent of wild fermentation. I had it warm (couldn't wait for chilling) with some banana bread - quite a good combination.
Kölsch 2007.5.11 @ 08:04 I imagine the people of Köln, the birthplace of the Kölsch style, would throw them out if they made pisswasser. ;) I'll have to keep this particular one in mind, though. If you can't find this one state-side (or they screw it up in bottling and oversea shipping), you should check out Flying Dog's Tire Bite.
Franziskaner Dunkel Weizen 2007.5.11 @ 08:07 Fixed. :)
Sam Adams Cherry Wheat 2007.5.11 @ 08:15 I find the cherry flavor overwhelms the rest of the beer. I usually prefer fruity notes to be accents only, rather than lead flavors.
Bottoms Up 2007.5.11 @ 17:27 A solid brown ale. Hints of chocolate malt, but not an overpowering roasty flavor.
MonkyMonk Saison 2007.5.15 @ 21:26 It's called a "Belgian Red Ale" on their menu, and it's certified organic.
Brother Adam's Bragget Honey Ale 2007.5.16 @ 20:14 Almost like mead, but there is more flavor than just honey here. Atlantic calls it "barley wine style." It complemented a cinnamon-flavored dessert very nicely.
CascaZilla 2007.5.17 @ 08:14 Ha! I never thought to look up the name of the Ithaca gorge. I assumed the beer was named after the Cascade hops they put in it. Alas, their website seems to say both.
Sam Adams Utopias (2005) 2007.5.17 @ 08:39 Twenty-five percent ABV! If you're looking to get smashed on beer fast, there is no quicker way. Of course, you'll pay for it too - the bottles run around $100 (higher, I hear, when their last batch starts thinning out before the next one is ready). I prefer drinking a good pint without falling off my stool, though. I'm not into sipping hard alcohol, so I was happy to just get my taste at a beer fest - I wouldn't have wanted any more.
Fullers ESB (Extra Special Bitter) 2007.5.23 @ 18:23 Has a bit of a caramel flavor to me. Nothing overpowering. Seems like it could go with just about anything. I had it out of a bottle in the US, though. I wouldn't be surprised to find that it has a different character on tap in England.
Hocus Pocus 2007.5.25 @ 18:40 The website has it right when they call this beer "light." It's yellow, clear, and light on the flavor. You could probably drink this beer for hours without overloading your taste buds. Had I not been told it was a wheat beer, I'm not sure I would have guessed that it was.
Cask Ale 2007.5.27 @ 14:04 Served at cellar temperature from a gravity-fed tap, like a real ale should be. Creamy mouth-feel, nice bitter taste. In the style of an English bitter.
